Ingredients
- 1 Small onion, finely diced
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 Garlic cloves
- Salt
- Pepper
- Paprika
- Dried sage
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 (15 oz) can Crushed tomatoes
- 2 cups Broth (chicken or beef)
- 8 oz Pasta (any pasta works)
- ¾ cup Cream
- ¼ cup Grated parmesan
- ¼ cup Water, as needed to loosen sauce
- Fresh chives, for topping
Instructions
- Step 1Heat a large pan over medium heat with a little oil. Sauté onion until soft, then add ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and sage, and cook until browned. Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant
- Step 2Add crushed tomatoes, broth, and pasta. Make sure the pasta is mostly covered in liquid (add water if it’s not covered). Bring to a gentle simmer
- Step 3Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender. If the sauce gets too thick, add a splash of water as needed to loosen
- Step 4Stir in cream and parmesan until smooth and creamy. Let it thicken for a few minutes. Taste, adjust seasoning, and finish with lots of parmesan and fresh chives
